Connecticut

I was born and grew up in the state of Connecticut. This state is in the New England area of America. As you can see, it is a very small section of the country to the north east. Here is a close up view of New England. The orange arrow is pointing to Connecticut. Since the state is close to the ocean, the climate can change greatly from season to season.
Here is a map of Connecticut. The orange dot marks were
Tolland, my home town, is located. Tolland is in the country, so I have to drive a car to get from place to place.
In this picture, a man in old fashion New England costume is collecting apples. The apple has been a symbol of New England for a long time, and many tasty foods and drinks are made from apples. Apple orchards can be found all over Connecticut
I graduated from Connecticut College with a degree in Japanese Studies in May of 2002. Here is a picture of the college campus in the spring. The college is very small, and is located close to the ocean in New London, Connecticut. Here is another picture of Connecticut College, this time in the winter. There is much natural beauty in Connecticut, and the college campus is especially nice in winter.
This is a picture of Sue Bird, who was the point gaurd for the
University of Connecticut (a different college than mine) women's basketball team from 1998-2002. She helped the team win two
national championships. They have won three championships in
total. When the team won the championship in the 1994-95 season
and the 2001-2002 season they did not loose a single game.
The Univeristy of Connecticut men's basketball team is also very good. They won the national championship in the 1998-1999 season. Last season they did very well, but lost in the national tournament quaterfinals.
